Penza police monitors over 100 members of informal groups

Penza, 20 February 2015. PenzaNews. The law enforcement forces are constantly monitoring activities of over 100 members of informal youth groups and associations as part of their program to counter any extremism activity, said police colonel Yuri Ruzlyaev, head of the Penza region department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“Five active participants have been held criminally responsible for varying offenses,” he noted during his report on ministry performance in 2014 to the Penza region Legislative Assembly on Friday, February 20.

Moreover, some criminal cases were instituted following publications of extremism materials online, Yuri Ruzlyaev added.

“15 individuals were prosecuted for propaganda of Nazi symbols,” said the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Penza region.
