Penza, 23 February 2015. PenzaNews. The head of Penza city administration Yuri Krivov has congratulated the citizens with Defender’s Day and called this notable date a national holiday.

“Today, we pay homage to the Russian warriors, veterans of the Second World War, and local conflicts, officers and soldiers who are performing their tough and important duty, all those who strengthen the glory and power of the great Russia by virtue of their military valor and peaceful labor,” noted the mayor.

The worldwide situation is changing, but the patriotic feelings and readiness to defend the interests of the Fatherland remain constant, he said.

“It is our duty to forever remember the good history of our Army’s military successes, preserve the best traditions of our Armed Forces, multiply the strength and power of our country, create all conditions for its development and improvement of our status worldwide,” Yuri Krivov stressed.

He wished the citizens to remain in good health, prosper, be happy and believe in the future.

“May this celebration of brave and honorable men be a peaceful and happy one,” the press service of the city administration quotes the mayor.
