Over 6,000 people took part in Voluntary City Help Day campaign

Penza, 1 March 2015. PenzaNews. A total of 6,407 people, based on preliminary information, took part in Voluntary City Help Day held in Penza on Saturday, February 28, wrote the deputy city administration head Yuri Ilyin in his Twitter.

267 machines helped clean the streets, and over 5,000 cubic meters of snow were shoveled and brought away, he added.

Among those who took part in the clean-up were city authority members. The city head Victor Kuvaytsev, the Penza mayor Yuri Krivov, and his deputies were working in the public garden on Slava street.

“We are not enforcing anyone. Our aim is to feel we can do something together. I would be glad if our citizens take it for a habit to work together to make Penza cleaner and prettier,” noted Yuri Krivov.

The clean-up works in the city lasted throughout the day, the city admin press service says.
