The highest-ranking regional and city officials, such as the governor Vasily Bochkarev, acting Minister of Education of the region Alexander Voronkov, the city head Victor Kuvaytsev and mayor Yuri Krivov, took part in the official opening ceremony.

Along with them, the opening of the preschool institution was attended by guests from other regions that arrived to Penza for the working group session of the Russian Cities Union on territorial civil self-governing.

The audience enjoyed a small theater play that involved the young kindergarten students.

During its official part, Vasily Bochkarev, Penza region governor, noted that region pays great attention to construction of new kindergartens during the recent years.

According to him, its construction was related to several issues related to unscrupulous behavior of a Syzran construction company; however, the Penza builders successfully completed the work.

“The good thing about this kindergarten is that it’s located in the housing area: no need to drive children far away. It is large, it is comfortable, it is fully equipped,” stressed the head of the region.

In his turn, the city head Victor Kuvaytsev said the new kindergarten opening its doors is a festive event not only for the neighborhood in itself but for the city as well.

“Today is the day when the dreams of the parents come true. They finally can send their children here for studies. The children also have their dreams come true: they finally can be here, in a well-equipped building, so to speak. And, of course, the builders who successfully completed the construction are also happy,” he said.

Addressing the audience, the Penza mayor Yuri Krivov noted that, despite all the issues, “everything went well.”

“Today we have a kindergarten in the distant Arbekovo neighborhood! May the children feel comfortable here,” he added.

The celebration continued with a short concert by the kindergarten students.
