Among the invited guests of the concert were leaders of executive and law-making authorities, women serving in federal structures, ministries, departments and branches, as well as veterans, members of civil organizations and national-cultural autonomies.
The Penza region governor Vasily Bochkarev was the first to present the day’s greetings to the audience.
From all men, he expressed his gratitude for their love and forgiveness, and especially thanked the women veterans of the Second World War.
“Today, both authorities and the society must be thankful to mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers for their energy given for the Victory,” the governor stressed.
Moreover, he noted, many modern women manage to be mothers, wives, household keepers and successful employees at the same time.
Ivan Belozertsev, chairman of the Penza region Legislative Assembly, also congratulated the ladies with the holiday.
“The best minds of the humanity – scientists, poets, writers, artists – always gave the women their due. Today, we bow to you, ladies, for your labor, for your work,” said the speaker of the regional parliament.
Women do a lot for their families and for the whole country, he added.
During the official part of the event, the most distinguished women of the region received diplomas and letters of gratitude from the governor and the regional Legislative Assembly. Among them were teachers, doctors, police officers, heads of enterprises, and state officials.
