About 160 million rubles spent on rehabilitation appliances for the disabled

Penza, 7 March 2015. PenzaNews. The regional branch of the Russian Social Insurance Fund spent 157 million rubles on the budget item titled “Providing rehabilitation equipment to the disabled, including creation and repairs of prosthetic and orthopedic appliances.”
Nearly 141 million out of this sum were actual rehabilitation procurement expenses.
16.5 million was used to compensate the disabled for rehabilitation equipment they procured on their own.
“The fund worked on 28,048 requests from the disabled in 2014, and 78.11% out of these were satisfied. Last year, the disabled received over 2,580,000 items, including 1,280 wheelchairs of varying modifications; 643 hearing aids; nearly 8,000 prosthetics, as well as prosthetic and orthopedic appliances,” the press services of the Penza regional SIF branch informed PenzaNews agency.
