According to the governor Vasily Bochkarev, the accident could have been caused by negligent behavior of the householders.

“Poorly treating your house leads to tragedy. Over 10 people left without house in Sursk on March 8: authorities took to resolve their problem,” the head of the region wrote in his Twitter on Monday, March 9, in the afternoon.

According to information published on the official website of the Penza EMERCOM headquarters, a fire was started in the one-floor house on Schkolnaya street in Sursk at 23.27 on Saturday, March 7. 15 professionals and five machines were required to subdue the fire and clean up after the tragedy.
