Penza, 12 March 2015. PenzaNews. The members of the Youth Council under the Penza City Duma held a blood donation campaign on Thursday, March 12, by the regional oncology center.

According to currently available data, it attracted over 45 persons, the chairman of the City Duma’s Youth Council Alexander Antonov informed PenzaNews agency.

“These are council members, people from the Russian Geographical Society, and Penza university students,” said the speaker.

He also added that several City Duma deputies planned to donate their blood for the campaign.

The donated blood may be required not only to cure a person, but even to save their life, so it is impossible to underestimate the value of such campaigns, said Maria Matyukina, public relations manager of the Penza regional blood station.

“We are glad to see that the young people are answering the request and want to share their kindness,” she noted.
