Penza, 12 March 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza region organized a book exposition “I am from Penza, ‘Tarkhany’ is my call sign” for the 45th anniversary of the Penza-born Russian cosmonaut Alexander Samokutyaev, who will celebrate his birthday on Friday, March 13.

Among other events, the Penza State Museum of Local Lore will present a book called “The Penza personalia. They who brought glory to Penza,” comprised short biographies of outstanding compatriots, including Alexander Samokutyaev’s.

His name also appears in a book called “The Feat For The Life” dedicated to Penza Heroes of Russia.

According to the Local Lore Museum webpage, the exposition also includes periodicals with articles about the famous cosmonaut, including materials from the newspapers “Molodoy Leninets,” “Nasha Penza,” “Penzenskaya pravda” and “Ulitsa Moskovskaya.”
