Penza, 16 March 2015. PenzaNews. Repairs of regional and municipal roads became the main topic of a working meeting session led by the Penza region governor Vasily Bochkarev on Monday, March 16.

The head of the region ordered to double the repair volumes in the current year.

While only 140 km of regional and intermunicipal roads were repaired in 2014, as much as 284 km of roads will undergo repairs in 2015 according to plans.

The restoration of the roads will involve surface treatment to increase its coarseness, which will supposedly increase road grip and increase the road durability.

“The Ministry of Construction of the Penza region already has prepared the documents to procure 359 million rubles of subsidies from the federal road fund for construction and reconstruction of federal-level highways. We are currently developing the repair roadmap with focus on certain sections, and have already decided on providing 146 million rubles from the regional road fund for construction and repairs of Penza roads. During the meeting, the governor ordered to increase this sum. Moreover, we will also allocate 54 million rubles from the regional road fund for repairs in cities and key towns of the region in 2015,” the press service of the regional government informed PenzaNews agency.
