The Penza region will soon reach 1 million sq. meters of newly constructed housing in 2015, announced the governor Vasily Bochkarev at the end of the Penza meeting of the district council, chaired by Mikhail Babich, presidential envoy in the Volga Federal District, on Tuesday, March 31.

“This is quite an important task we have set to ourselves. As a result, we will build more than 0.7 square meters per person, so the Penza region will be able to become a leader in terms of housing in the district,” Vasily Bochkarev said.

He noted that last year the leader in this area was Chuvashia with 0.66 sq. meters per person.

The governor also drew attention to the fact that the growth in housing construction stimulates the development of furniture manufacturing and other industries.

“This is our economy, and housing can be our point of growth,” Vasily Bochkarev summed up.
