Among them were the activists of the regional branch of “Young Guards of United Russia,” members of the student teams, pupils of school No. 17 and locals.

The main forces were engaged in winter litter disposal, and restoration of metal carnations.

The mayor Yuri Krivov visited the site.

Talking to the city head, the local residents could not hide their indignation at the actions of vandals who in late March during the night cut bark off several trees and covered the wounds with salt for the trunks to dry out.

Yuri Krivov noted that the reaction of residents to the actions of people who consciously and wittily decided to destroy the trees in the densely populated district, is understandable and quite natural.

“It's great that there are Penza residents, young people who have come here and are trying to draw attention to this park again, they are ready to work to save it,” he said.

According to the mayor, they agreed that the tenants of the nearby area will make preliminary landscaping design at their own expense.

Yuri Krivov repeatedly stressed that if the trees die, the new ones will be planted.

“This park should be placed the map of Penza,” he concluded.
