Archival wartime documents exposition opened in Penza

Penza, 20 April 2015. PenzaNews. The archival wartime documents exposition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory opened in the foyer of the Penza region state archive on Dzerzhinskogo Street on Monday, April 20.

The exposition motto is the verse of war veteran, director of the Penza Drama Theater Viktor Nalobin: “That road of ours was tough, and long, and bloody. And we remember all.”
The exposition includes electronic copies of original documents and photos stored in the State Archive.
Several stands are devoted to specific topics, such as mobilization, Penza soldiers, rear everyday work, war prisoners, city cultural life in 1941-1945, and war victims memorials.
Among the exhibits is the order of the Military Council of the Volga Military District on the Penza divisions formation, including the 354th division, one of the most famous in the region; plan of fortifications built by the regional residents; the original call-up papers of an archive member, who went all the way to Berlin and returned alive; as well as letters and posters painted by Penza artists to maintain fighting spirit at the front.
In addition, exposition visitors can be acquainted with photos of wartime everyday work of Penza residents, documents about the war prisoners and lists of evacuees.
In addition, the second copy of “The Book of Memories” is also of great interest. The first one is kept near the memorial of military and labor glory of Penza residents.
