Penza, 20 April 2015. PenzaNews. 3,289 children were born in the Penza region in the first quarter of 2015.

“The birth rate amounted to 9.8 cases per 1,000 people. High birth rates are registered in the Penza area with 12.3%, and in the Luninsky and Mokshansky areas with 11.8% each,” the press service of the regional Health Ministry informed PenzaNews agency.

The department clarified that Penza city birth rate increased from 10.5 % to 10.7 %, and from 9.7% to 11.1% in Kuznetsk.

“Infant mortality decreased by 1.8 times from 7.1 to 3.9 per 1 thousand born alive, with 12 infant deaths less compared to the same period last year,” the press service said.
