Penza, 24 April 2015. PenzaNews. A Penza activist helped the traffic police to located and detain a drunk driver.

Late on Thursday, April 23, one of the members of a VK group “Self-help on Penza roads” spotted a Volkswagen Golf without a license plate on Galetnaya street in the Ternovka neighborhood in the traffic.

The young man immediately called the traffic police by the phone in the VK group and described the vehicle, which was stopped several minutes after the call.

“The driver of the car was a drunk man born in 1973. The analysis showed him to have 0.9 mg of ethanol per liter of exhaled air, which constitutes to be an administrative violation,” the press service of the traffic police department in the Penza region informed PenzaNews agency.

The police urged all socially active citizens to help protect the lives and health of drivers and pedestrians.

“If you see a drunk driver behind the wheel, please inform the traffic police by calling +7 (8412) 59-90-02, 59-90-03, 59-90-04, 59-90-72, 59-90-79 or 02, and describe the brand, color and, if possible, license plate number of the car, its location and heading. Your call is anonymous,” they stressed.
