“St. George Ribbon” action began in Penza
Penza, 24 April 2015. PenzaNews. The traditional all-Russian patriotic action “St. George Ribbon” officially started at Fontannaya Square in Penza on Friday, April 24. As the correspondent of PenzaNews reported from the sight, this year the citizens show increased interest to the symbol of victory.

The ribbon stock brought by the activists for distribution on Moskovskaya Street, finished during the first minutes of the action, so the young people had to organize additional delivery of ribbons to the city center.
“Most people are positive about the action. Many share their family stories about their grandfathers, great-grandfathers, who participated in the Great Patriotic War,” Dmitry Semin, head of the regional branch of the Young Guard of United Russia, commented for PenzaNews agency.
According to him, St. George ribbons on Penza residents’ chests indicate that the youth of today honors the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
He added that the ribbons will be distributed daily on Moskovskaya Street from 16.00 to 19.00 till May 9.
