Alms-house by Penza Troitsky monastery opens doors

Penza, 27 April 2015. PenzaNews. The Troitsky monastery of Penza has opened an alms-house of the Icon of the Mother of Good “Joy of All Who Sorrow.”

The Archbishop Serafim of Penza and Nizhny Novgorod has held the rite of sanctification of the new alms-house on Sunday, April 26.
Right after, the sisters of charity began their duties, organizing a 24-hour vigil.
During his visit, the Archbishop had a talk with each of the poor women who came to reside in the alms-house, and held a commemorative dinner after the celebration.
The alms-house can care after 26 people, six on the first floor for those who are unable to walk on their own, and 20 for the house patrons on the second floor, the press service of the Penza diocese informed PenzaNews agency.
Currently, the alms-house already admitted five patrons.
