Penza, 8 May 2015. PenzaNews. The final event of the patriotic campaign “The Star of Memory” has been held by the Penza Military and Labor Valor Monument on Friday, May 8.

Starting from March 1, 70 days before the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, the cultural workers of the city were holding guided tours through notable places of WWII combat every Thursday that involved over 5,000 Penza residents.

The last day of the campaign featured the last guided tours as its part, followed by official awards and letters of gratitude from the Penza regional United Russia branch.

The events were held by all monuments included in the guided tour route, such as the Military and Labor Valor Monument, the Farewell Monument, the stela “Glory to Heroes,” the Afghan Gates monument and the Torn Star complex.

At the end of the event, its participant suggested to make the campaign annual, says the press service of the Penza regional United Russia office.
