“The whole country rose to fight against the fascism during the years of tough struggle. A single tragedy united all people, gave birth to the highest kind of patriotism, heroism and steadfastness. Our hearts will forever hold memory of those who lost lives on the battlefield to bring closer the great day of the Victory. The years of the war are further and further away from us, but the feat of valor of the people who defended their Motherland’s independence in an unprecedented tough struggle with the enemy becomes even more prominent and visible. Nothing will hide the glory of our ancestors, the light of the Great Victory,” he said.
The city head wished the veterans happiness and well-being.
“We thank you for your bravery, heroism, for letting us live under the peaceful skies,” he added.
“I sincerely wish the war veterans, all homefront workers, the citizens of Penza and the whole Sura region sound health and belief in the great future. May our skies forever be peaceful, may you and your families have more bright and happy days,” the press service of the Penza City Duma quotes Victor Kuvaytsev.
