Thousands of citizens watched the fireworks by the Rostok monument and from many of the city center’s bridges, such as Podvesnoy, Bakuninsky and Sursky. In particular, the drivers who watched the show from the bridge leading to GPZ-24 area lined up their cars in several rows, leaving only two for the passing vehicles.

After the final fireworks, the citizens moved towards the bus stops, while some instead chose to walk to their homes.

The roads in the city center were blocked up until 23.00, and the pedestrians used both the sidewalks and the streets.

The traffic jam in the city center was greatly exacerbated after the driving ban was lifted: after spending almost an hour in a jam, the drivers were eager to get out, causing small collisions all around the area.

With the onset of the dark, the streets saw many young drivers on Russian-made cars with Russian flags aflutter. In several areas of the city, the patriotic drivers moved through the streets in columns sounding their horns in on-the-spot car rallies.
