Penza, 12 May 2015. PenzaNews. A series of events dedicated to International AIDS Candlelight Memorial began in the Penza region.

“This week, the municipal areas of the Penza region will be holding public awareness campaigns, workshops, conferences, lectures ant talks on AIDS prevention in educational institutions, workplaces and organizations, and giving away booklets and leaflets on the issue,” the press service of the regional Ministry of Healthcare informed PenzaNews agency.

Moreover, many regional official institutions will be setting up theme exhibition platforms and healthcare areas, the officials added.

“A total of 3,013 persons were registered as infected with AIDS in the Penza region since 1988, and 312 new cases of AIDS were registered in 2014. As of January 1, 2015, 1,648 persons have been placed under medical surveillance,” the press service clarified.
