As a result, the train was 1 hour 40 minutes late, the press secretary of the Penza region Kuybyshevskaya Railroad segment Svetlana Zatuliveter informed PenzaNews agency.
“The train was made of two wagons, following the state request of the Penza region government. 82 tickets were sold and 172 people were seated at Penza-1 train station. 60 one-way tickets were sold on Arbekovo station, but 152 people boarded. 14 passengers went on the railway and blocked the rails, because the train was full,” the speaker said.
To resolve the issue, the Kuybyshevskaya Railroad provided an additional wagon for “Baskhortostansksaya city passenger company” that organizes the trains.
“The Penza region governor [Vasily Bochkarev] was informed of a similar incident that took place on April 25. As a result, the Penza region government amended the gov order: on holidays and weekends, the train includes four wagons instead of two. However, the requests of ‘Baskhortostansksaya city passenger company’ to increase the number of wagons in the days before the holidays were left unsatisfied due to replacement transport,” Svetlana Zatuliveter said.
