Penza region requires 1,168 medical specialists

Penza, 15 May 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza region is in demand of 1,168 medical specialists, based on the data available on April 1, 2015, acting regional Minister of Healthcare Dmitry Zinovyev reported to the governor Vasily Bochkarev during the meeting held in the Burdenko clinical hospital on Friday, May 15.
“As of May 1, the regional medical institutions employ 4,322 doctors and 12,295 middle-level medical workers,” he said.
Moreover, 409 future students signed the agreements to undergo targeted study programs as part of the self-orientation campaign, Dmitry Zinovyev added.
“The target figures for new students in the medical universities were more than doubled for 2014 compared to 2012. We have compiled a group of 60 students to be taught at the PSU in 2013 and 2014 each with the costs covered by the regional budget,” said the acting minister.
According to him, the 2015 budget provides no funds for a similar group of 60 this year.
Overall, 251 doctors were employed by the regional medical institutions in 2014, Dmitry Zinovyev pointed out.
