Penza, 26 May 2015. PenzaNews. The potential of new slippery road treatment technique in winter season was a topic of discussion at the weekly regular meeting session held at the Penza city administration on Tuesday, May 26.

During the discussion, the Urban Amenities Department of the city Vladimir Mutovkin and the director of “Penzadormost” Andrei Shevchenko shared the experience they gained during a workshop in St. Petersburg.

According to them, the salt treatment of the roads is one of the innovative methods to combat the slippery issues.

Even though the method is said to be more expensive, it would allow to significantly reduce the expenses dedicated to collecting snow and flushing slush out of the drainage.

The project is currently reviewed for economic viability and possible implementation with the currently available municipal vehicles, the press service of the city administration informed PenzaNews agency.
