The ceremony involved the acting governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev, State Duma deputy Nikolai Makarov, acting regional Legislative Assembly chairman Valery Lidin, regional Minister of Education Alexander Voronkov, and head of the Penza area administration Galiya Murakaeva.

The event began with a warm welcome of the kindergarten children who read some poems, followed by a speech by Ivan Belozertsev who congratulated the local residents with the opening.

“You have waited for this splendid kindergarten for a long time. As of today, the edict of the Russian President on providing kindergarten slots for your children has been fulfilled: everybody who applied their children to a kindergarten will now get an opportunity,” he added.

During the opening ceremony, the acting governor presented letters of gratitude to construction workers and wished the staff members to work well, after which he presented the institution a stationary computer.

After the official part, the guests of the kindergarten had a guided tour, during which the acting governor praised the comfortable conditions for the preschoolers that allow their parents to work without any worries.

However, he added that the Sputnik city area must develop further.

“We must have a school here: right now, people have to send their children to other schools of Penza from here. This is an incorrect and expensive situation. Of course we will actively apply for federal programs to co-finance the construction,” he said.
