“Currently, the timetable is this. The plane will depart from Penza at 13.00 and arrive to Vnukovo at 14.45. The flights will be made daily, except on Saturdays. The planes will leave Vnukovo at 10.30 am and arrive to Penza at 12.15,” Nikolai Kruglov, head of corporate communications department at UTair, informed during the press conference held on Tuesday, June 2.

The flights will be made using ATR 72-500 planes, he clarified.

“The company’s plane park currently has 15 such planes. They were in service for an average of 3.5 years. Each plane can hold 70 passengers, reach the speed of 510 kmph, and execute flights as long as 1.650 km,” Nikolai Kruglov added.

The tariff includes both affordable and expensive tickets, he stressed.

The head of corporate communications department explained that the price of 1,990 rubles will not change depending on the time of purchase, but the seats in the plane are still limited.

“The company continues to develop its transportation network, including through socially vital regional flights. Thanks to the now available Moscow flight and convenient joint potential in the Vnukovo airport, our passengers from Penza and the region can now reach over 60 cities through UTair network,” Nikolai Kruglov noted.

In his turn, Yuri Oskolkov, director of the Penza airport, explained that the relatively long flight time of 1 hour 45 minutes is due to two factors.

“The flight speed of the plane is less than those by RusLine, that’s for one. And for two, the approach to Vnukovo involves a bypass maneuver and takes 10-15 minutes more depending on how many planes there are over Moscow,” he pointed out.

Commenting on the opening of the new Penza–Moscow flight, acting deputy chairman of the regional government Valery Bespalov suggested that this offer would be great for the passengers who find it uncomfortable to leave Moscow too early in the morning, and foreign investors, including those coming from Turkey, who frequently use Vnukovo as their preferred relay point.

“It is very important for us to see a big company that manages not only Russian but also international flights come to our city,” he stressed.

To celebrate the opening of the flights, the UTair representatives presented the first passenger registered for the Moscow flight, a woman, a certificate for a free one-way flight along the route.
