Penza graffiti festival preparations underway
Penza, 7 June 2015. PenzaNews. The preparation for the graffiti festival scheduled on June 12 as part of Russia Day and City Day celebrations became the main topic of the external meeting of city officials held on the Sura river embankment of Penza on Saturday, June 6.
Svetlana Lisushkina, the director of the children’s arts school No. 3, and the participants of the upcoming competition presented the sketch of the image the artists will be painting on the retaining wall of the embankment.
It will depict the panorama of the city with a tagline in the center, they explained.
After hearing out the suggestion, the city head added his own ideas on improving the sketch.
“As part of the preparations to City Day, the officials aim to improve the looks of the river embankment area. Many cities reach for the help of graffiti artists in painting walls and landmarks. Penza also has its young artists who answered the call and said they were ready to make a gift for the city,” he noted.
As the press service of the city administration informed PenzaNews agency, the retaining wall in question is already primed and ready for graffiti artists, while the adjacent territory is regularly scoured for trash.
“Soon we will start painting the sketch lines, and in the following days, on June 10-12, the painting on the retaining wall will be complete,” the Penza administration said.
