“These wonderful events bring together the patriots of our Fatherland and the Sura land, all those who honor our heroic history and ancient legacy,” the head of the region said.

He added that the current times are such that each person’s actions, hard work and active civil stance defines the present and the future of the state.

“All the new positive happenings in the region – the sizeable held of Penza citizens in improvement of the Fatherland’s social and economy potential, the increased quality of life, the new apartment buildings and the priceless landmarks of the old times, the quiet pensive alleys and the wide highways, the sports complexes and the green public gardens, the parks full with children’s laughter – all this is modern Penza, a true jewel among the Russian provinces. We have all the rights to be proud for the great travelers, those who defended the Motherland during the tough times of war, built factories and industries, taught and cured people, created beautiful works of art, multiplied the country’s glory on the arenas of sports,” Ivan Belozertsev stressed.

He thanked the citizens for their devotion to their land, and for support and approval of all fruitful ideas dedicated to its improvement.

“We know that our strength is in consolidation and unbreakable unity. I believe we have what it takes to preserve and increase our achievements and bring ourselves to the new levels of creative success. I wish you sound health, prosperity, happiness and your plans coming true,” the press service of the Penza region government quotes Ivan Belozertsev.
