Penza, 12 June 2015. PenzaNews. A total of 32,400 rubles was donated during a no-lose charity lottery held during the “Dobraya Penza” festival held on Friday, June 12, announced the executive director of the Civil Union local community foundation Oleg Sharipkov on his Facebook page.
“We sold all the souvenirs donated by businessmen and officials – over 300 pieces. And we did it before 14 o’clock! Our team pumped up the people at the charity lottery so hard they were queueing up and basically shoving their money into our hand. The crowd was squeeing wild every time some lucky guy won a cobra, an Indian chieftain axe, a grill or a clock,” he wrote.
Oleg Sharipkov added that among the players in the lottery were such people as the acting Penza region governor Ivan Belozertsev, who won a trench shovel, while the chairman of the regional government Mikhail Kosoy won a statue of a smart owl, that he thought “pretty much fits him.”
The executive director of Civil Union foundation explained that they had to cancel the stage auction of the most expensive items scheduled for 15.00 because of rain.
“The audience people had an opportunity to buy the five main items,” he added.
As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, the festival “Dobraya Penza” brought together almost 70 NGOs and city communities who took the opportunity to tell people about their work and exchange their experience.
