51 million rubles allocated for schoolbooks procurement in Penza region

Penza, 15 June 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza region budget will provide 51 million rubles for the procurement of schoolbooks for the core school subjects, the acting regional Minister of Education Alexander Voronkov announced during the briefing session in the regional government on Monday, June 15.

“We signed the direct contracts, with no intermediaries, with the publishing houses,” he stressed.
The school students will receive their books following the federal state standards in education, the head of the ministry added.
“We need 2.5 million [rubles] more for experimental schools. We will try to seek them out in our internal reserves,” Alexander Voronkov added.
The parents of those students who study in gymnasiums and lyceums will be involved in the issue of buying more schoolbooks for dedicated subjects, he explained.
After hearing out the report, the acting governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev demanded to strictly follow the schedule in the schoolbook procurement task to avoid repeating the situation that had taken place several years ago.
“If anything fails, I will accept no excuses,” said the head of the region.
