The ceremony organized at the marching grounds of the Penza branch for the Military Academy of Inventory and Logistics Management involved 180 students of 8th and 9th school classes from such regions of the federal district as Bashkortostan, Mordovia, the Orenburg, Penza, Samara, Saratov and Ulyanovsk regions, as well as Sevastopol and Lugansk (Luhansk).

Among them are children in difficult life situations, army cadets and members of patriotic clubs.

In his welcoming speech, the assistant to Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy in the Volga Federal District Oleg Melnichenko said the students will closely work with military information, do sports and learn more about relying on each other and becoming closely-knit friends.

“This will be a great foundation, particularly for those who seek to make career in the army,” he stressed.

In his turn, the acting governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev pointed out that the regional youth programs are big.

“Education of the future defenders of the Motherland begins exactly from such events. I believe you will spend the time on the Penza land with fun and usefulness,” said the head of the region.

During the opening ceremony, the special police force “Fobos” held a demonstrative performance of martial arts, weapon use and military equipment use.

The event also involved vocal and dance performances.

The official opening ceremony was concluded with a march of artillery institute cadets – people who come from countries all over the world.

The session of the patriotic camp is scheduled to last for 18 days, says the press service of the Penza region government.
