Penza, 26 June 2015. PenzaNews. A Penza citizen, who had been hospitalized with a severe cervical spine trauma received during diving, underwent a difficult operation with the use of metal prosthetics in the Penza city Zakharyin clinical emergency hospital.

“The patient is treated free of charge through the obligatory medical insurance program. His condition is stable but critical due to the type of trauma and damage sustained by his spinal cord,” the acting Minister of Health for the Penza region Vladimir Stryuchkov announced on Friday, June 26.

The patient requires no additional funds for his treatment, he added.

According to Vladimir Stryuchkov, the recent heat spell in the region increased the number of patients with traumas received during diving.

“Dear citizens of Penza and the region, please remain cautious at all times! A special warning to parents of underage children. You are directly responsible for them. Their health and their future are in your hands,” the Penza region Ministry of Health head stressed.
