Penza, 28 June 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza region is currently experiences a great number of fraudsters who steal money from businesspeople under the guise of prosecutors.

“Frequently it goes like this: the fraudster calls an individual businessman or a director of a commercial company, introduces himself as a prosecution official and asks them to visit the prosecutor’s office. When the victim is on their way, they receive calls with demands to transmit great sums of money to a credit card number or a phone account,” Yulia Makarova, Senior Assistant Attorney of the region in Media Relations, informed PenzaNews agency.

Such or similar schemes are acts of fraud, she stressed.

“The prosecutor’s office of the Penza region would like to remind the citizens that we are funded by the government, and the laws regulating our activities prohibits any other sources of funding. Dead residents and guests of our city! Do not believe the fraudsters and do not allow yourself to be easily manipulated! If you receive such calls, immediately contact the police or the Penza region prosecutor’s office,” said the speaker.
