“Express” TV channel pays out owed wages after prosecutor’s office intervention

Penza, 1 July 2015. PenzaNews. LLC “Firma ‘Express’” one of the legal entities in “Express” media holding, has paid out 110,000 rubles of owed wages for April 2015 to 22 employees after an intervention of the prosecutor’s office.

The officials have reviewed a single personal and a single group complaint from the employees, Yulia Makarova, Senior Assistant Attorney of the region in Media Relations, informed PenzaNews agency.
“The Pervomaisky area prosecutor’s office of Penza has held an audit of ‘Firma ‘Express’ after a complaint from one of its workers that she receives no wages and no holiday pay, while her wages were illegally brought down,” the speaker said.
According to her, the audit has confirmed that the company did not pay its employees for February to April 2015 on time and in full.
“Moreover, the woman working for ‘Firma ‘Express’ did not receive the wage withdrawal bonus for each day she was not paid, which is a violation of the Labor Codex of Russia. The holiday pay issues were there as well,” Yulia Makarova added.
She clarified that the acting general director Stepan Parfenov was instructed to rectify the violations and punish those responsible for them.
“The violations have been rectified, and the person responsible, a human resources manager at ‘Firma ‘Express,’ was fined. Moreover, the State Labor Inspection in the Penza region fined the company 30,000 and 5,000 rubles as a result of two cases on administrative violations against the legal body itself and its former director in September 2013 – April 2015 [Alexander Orgin],” the speaker said.
After that, the Pervomaisky area prosecutor’s office of Penza received a collective address from the workers of “Firma ‘Express’” on unpaid wages.
“The prosecutor’s audit has shown they have not received the full advance pay for May 2015. Moreover, 22 workers were not paid a total of 110,000 rubles in April wages as of May 13, 2015, when it should have been paid by May 6 according to the employment contracts,” the Senior Assistant Attorney noted.
She added that the workers did not receive the wage withholdance bonus and holiday pay either.
“The audit resulted in a lawsuit against the company’s financial director that is currently sent for review to the State Labor Inspection. The debt was paid. The wage situation in the company is under the supervision of the Pervomaisky area prosecutor’s office,” the speaker concluded.
