Penza, 17 July 2015. PenzaNews. An initiative group from the organization “Modern Age Generation” will hold a protest by the building of the Penza region Department of Tariff Regulation and Energy Preservation to support the planned revision of the public commute fare from 11.00 to 12.00 of Monday, July 20.
During the event, the activists will support the proclamation of the acting governor Ivan Belozertsev to review the economic premise behind the increased public commute fare made during the July 13 session at the regional government.
They plan to involve as many as 10 people in the action.
“It’s a surprise, but the city administration helped us and allowed to hold the protest where we asked. We will demand to establish a financially sound fare amount and the return for discounts to school and university students,” the board chairman of “Modern Age Generation” Ivan Finogeev informed PenzaNews agency.
Over the last 90 days, the Penza citizens have fully felt the impact of the increased fare with their own wallets, he added.
“So much for improved quality of transportation. And yet we keep hearing the assuring from the top heads who say the cars will improve and more and more,” the activists said.
They invite all willing to do so to join their action.
