The Penza region has shown the lowest prices in ten categories of foods in the Volga Federal District according to July 13 data, the acting regional Minister of Agriculture Andrei Burlakov announced during the selective meeting with the Russian Agriculture Ministry on Friday, July 17.

“These are chicken eggs, white sugar, bread and bread goods made of first and second grade wheat flour, white rice, millet, buckwheat, green cabbage, onions, carrots,” the head of the regional ministry reported.

He also noted that the prices on pork, frozen fish, sunflower oil, macaroni goods, apples, potatoes, cabbages, cucumbers and tomatoes decreased.

“The region holds no maximum prices. The Penza region is an overall average,” the press service of the regional Agriculture Ministry quotes Andrei Burlakov.
