Penza, 3 August 2015. PenzaNews. A bystander on the Saratov – Nizhny Novgorod highway taken shortly after the tragic traffic accident in the road part in the Malaya Serdoba area of the Penza region that left five dead.
It depicts the truck in the curb, a fire truck on the opposite side of the road, an ER vehicle, a heap of burnt metal left after the Hyundai Solaris, and the dead bodies.
As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, a Hyundai Solaris with a Saratov-issued license plate rammed head-first into a MAZ-5432 from Nizhny Novgorod at about 16.20 of Sunday, August 2, on the 514th kilometer of the Saratov – Nizhny Novgorod highway by Mayskoe village.
According to preliminary theory, the driver of the smaller car, born in 1975, caught the road curb with his wheel, lost control of the car, crossed into the opposite traffic lane and rammed the truck driven by a man born in 1978.
As a result, the driver of Hyundai Solaris and four passengers of the car, including a child, died at the scene; the driver of the truck and another passenger of Hyundai were hospitalized to the Petrovsk city hospital in the Saratov region with varying injuries.
Originally, the news sources reported the car to be of Toyota brand, as they were unable to determine the information due to the car going on fire shortly after the collision.
A criminal case was initiated on the traffic accident.
