Worker threatening self-immolation, engaged in Penza perinatal center construction

Penza, 12 August 2015. PenzaNews. On Wednesday, August 12, Alexander Grishaev, acting minister of construction and housing in the region, informed PenzaNews agency that the worker from the Omsk region, who threatened to burn himself in the building of the Penza prosecutor's office due to wage non-payment, was engaged in the construction of the perinatal center in Lermontova Street.

“He worked there for less than a month. More precisely, did not work, he tried, but lacked qualification, had numerous violations of labor legislation, came drunk to work, and still received per diem. [...] He already has cases of truancy during this incomplete month of work,” the agency interlocutor said.
He explained that a whole brigade of 20 builders arrived from the Omsk region, but the professional skills of nine of them turned out to be insufficient to continue the work at the Penza facility.
“We bought the tickets and sent them back home,” Alexander Grishaev added.
The head of the regional Ministry of Construction also stressed that all the workers who were not employed, made written statements about the lack of any claims, including wage.
Answering the question of PenzaNews agency of existing wage debts to the builders of the perinatal center, about which acting governor Ivan Belozertsev spoke during the meeting in the regional government on August 10, Alexander Grishaev said that “there is no question of wage payment.”
As PenzaNews agnency reported earlier, on, August 10, a man, who applied to the prosecutor of the Penza region on the fact of wage non-payment, tried to commit self-immolation in the lobby of the building. The man covered himself with petrol, but was unable to complete the act thanks to the police officers who stopped him.
On August 12, the prosecutor's office of the Penza region said that a man is a worker of LLC “Construction company “Most” from the Omsk region, and the wage debt has been settled.
