The event is organized by the St. Petersburg Mikhail Kechinov studio, famous for its dedication to sophisticated web and mobile services and IT startups.
The studio is assisted by the Penza software developers association “Secon” and the Center of Cluster Development.
The event will bring together the active representatives of technical and business communities of the Penza region and adjacent areas. Throughout the 48 hours of the event, the contestants will launch their own IT projects and demonstrate them to experts, investors and journalists.
According to the organizers, the format allows the participants to give the project all they got and implement the ideas that would normally take weeks or even months.
All teams will have a 24/7 access to the HackDay venue and free food.
The event will welcome all projects – web and mobile apps, online tools, Internet of Things or robots.
Afterwards, the projects will be compared in three categories.
The winner of the “Startup” category will be the best expandable and monetizable project made by a team formed before the HackDay as chosen by the Internet Initiatives Development Fund that will continue supporting the development.
The winning project of “Technologies” category will be the most sophisticated 48-hour tool, while the winner of the “Hack” category will be the most simple and effective IT solution that borders on a lifehack. All awards will be accompanied by prizes from partners and sponsors of the event.
In addition to that, the super-sponsor Autodesk will reward a team that develops the most original 3D web application with prizes in its own category.
The IT and business professionals as guest experts will both evaluate the final prototypes and serve as mentors in the educational section and consult the participants.
“Developing software is an art. The hackathons bring together the coders who love their craft, and create 48-hour opportunities for them to join their friends in their most loved thing – coding like they want, for what they want,” Maxim Semenkin, president of “Secon,” told “PenzaNews.”
The IT marathons became regular events that always elicit positive reactions from the regional community, he noted.
“It is important to keep such field-related events in the region, as it helps the professionals exchange experience, establish and uphold their ties, generate new business ideas and quickly implement them,” the speaker stressed.
A participant’s ticket to the event costs 256 rubles: however, each potential participant may write a letter of motivation to the organizers who may allow to participate in the HackDay free of charge.
The guest entry for the demofest that will feature prototype presentations and the award ceremony is free and open for all.
