Penza, 9 September 2015. PenzaNews. The customer base of “Rostelecom” FTTB (Fiber to the Building) communications services in the Penza region has exceeded 50,000 people.

Currenly, the fiber optic network of the company covers all area centers of the region with apartment buildings, as well as villages located close to Penza city, the company reports.

The expansion of the fiber network allowed “Rostelecom” to significantly expand its list of offered plans and improve quality of broadband Internet access for citizens and regional enterprises.

“The company continues to invest in network upgrades to provide high-quality communications access to over 100,000 Internet users in the Penza region. This year, we built the first fiber optic lines to connect apartment buildings in Tamala, Issa and Kondol, and significantly expanded FTTB coverage in Penza and other cities and towns,” the director of the Penza branch of the corporation Lev Dyatlov told PenzaNews agency.

The capacity of the fiber optic network allows it to successfully withstand any bandwidth peaks even with the ever-growing customer demand, he added.

An FTTB network allows to provide many communications services, such as broadband Internet access, interactive TV and phone connection, via a single cable. The customers regularly enjoy combined plans that usually include Internet access at up to 100 Mbps and “House TV” with over 200 digital channels, more than 30 of them in HD.

The fiber optic network of “Rostelecom” also finds use in other areas – such as security surveillance of apartment building areas and automatic meter data gathering for urban amenity companies, or CCTV systems implemented in several preschools.

Any new user may leave a request to connect their building to the “Rostelecom” network by calling 8-800-100-0-800, visiting the company’s website, or going to the nearby “Rostelecom” sales office.
