“The investigators learned that the man, while walking by a household in the village, saw a dog tied to the fence. After the dog barked at him, the man approached the dog and hit it in the head several times, giving it a cranial injury and breaking its jaw,” Yulia Makarova, Senior Assistant Attorney of the region in Media Relations, informed PenzaNews agency.
Seeing the dog wreath in agony, unable to run away because of the leash, the man kicked it several times more, rupturing its liver and spleen, she continued.
“The dog died at the scene as a result,” the speaker added.
According to Yulia Makarova, the man in question agreed to the sentence during the court hearing.
“The court found the man guilty of a crime under Part 1, Art. 245 of the Criminal Code, titled ‘Cruelty to Animals.’ The sentence has come into force,” she said.
