Overall, 100,000 children are eligible to receive the shots, the press service of the regional Ministry of Health informed PenzaNews agency.
“Originally, the Penza region received 40,128 doses of ‘Grippol plus’ vaccines for the children, following the national calendar of preventive vaccine application. This constituted 40.1% of the required number,” they clarified.
According to the ministry, they received the remaining quantity of vaccine doses on Wednesday, September 23, which allows to give enough flu shots to protect the children from an epidemic outbreak.
“The program covers children over 6 months old, pupils of preschool institutions, school children from 1-11 classes, and students of secondary and higher education,” the press service noted.
According to the Ministry of Health, the region will receive the flu vaccine for the adults in October.
