“85 machines were involved in the campaign. As a result, we have removed 174 cubic meters of trash, eradicated 26 illegal waste dumps, cleaned over 105,000 sq. meters of city land,” the mayor hall noted.

The state servants from the city administration and the City Duma joined the citizens in the clean-up in the Zapadnaya Polyana residential area, where they picked up trash, cut down underbrush and sawed off tree branches on the verge of falling or tangling the wires.

“I believe there will be a day when the citizens will go outside to clean up their yard of their own accord,” the Penza city mayor Yuri Krivov pointed out during the campaign.

In his turn, Roman Petrukhin, assistant head of the city, added that such events help citizens give a hand in the process of making their residential area better.

“It is difficult to keep the city clean without the help of each of us. A man that cleans the land where he lives will litter much less,” he stressed.
