Penza, 25 October 2015. PenzaNews. A delegation from the Czech Republic led by Petr Gadzik, vice-chairman of the republican Parliament, laid flowers to the monument to Czechoslovak soldiers installed in spring of 2015, in a brief visit to Penza.

Shortly before, the delegation had visited Ulyanovsk to attend the opening ceremony of another monument dedicated to the legacy of the Czechoslovak Corps soldiers who lost their lives during the 1918 Civil War in Russia.

The delegation’s schedule in Ulyanovsk had been cut due to a delayed flight from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo.

As a result, the award ceremony for the Russian veterans who helped liberate Czechoslovakia from Nazi Germany had been cancelled.
