“We regret to announce that the Penza broadcasting network ‘Svoe Radio’ will be no longer broadcasted in FM and online in the Penza region as of November 1, 2015. We would like to thank all of you who stayed with us these years, and particularly our subscribers and active commenters of our social network accounts,” he wrote.
According to Denis Simonov, even though “music is eternal,” every musical project has its beginning and its end.
“And there are no exceptions to this rule. It appears that the time of ‘Svoe Radio’ has come to an end after all, no matter how sad it would be,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the VK.com social network group of “Svoe Radio” announced to its subscribers that the station will keep broadcasting online for a certain, yet undefined, period of time.
The reason behind the closure of “Svoe Radio” was not announced. However, a significant portion of the media community thinks the financial difficulties and overall situation with “Express” media holding may have had something to do with it.
According to available information, which is yet to be confirmed or disproved officially, the local radio station “Echo Penzy,” also a part of TRC “Express” holding, may also face closure soon: several observers say it barely breaks even at the moment.
According to local media experts, this process may be further exacerbated if “Echo” radio station in Penza will have to compete with the state information radio station “Vesti FM,” the opening of which has become a greatly debated issue in the Penza professional community.
As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, on April 1, 2015, the editor-in-chief of “Svoe Radio” Sergei Simonov, announced the shutdown of “Svoe Radio.” However, he later elaborated that the radio will remain offline for 3 months.
The radio station resumed the broadcast in the Penza region on July 1.
