“Currently, the main objective is to establish exactly how many citizens of the region are currently staying in Egypt, in order to facilitate their return home,” Anna Shupilova, head of information and public relations division of the main EMERCOM department in the region, told PenzaNews agency.
The national EMERCOM crisis management department has opened an Egypt situation hotline for Russian citizens, she added.
“The Russian tourists staying in the Arab Republic of Egypt can contact this hotline to receive information on return to their country. The phone number is 8-800-100-40-61 for calls inside Russia, and +7-499-995-57-26 from abroad,” Anna Shupilova explained.
As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, all Russian commercial airlines and managers of general-purpose flights have temporarily canceled all regular, transit and charter flights to Egypt as of 20.00 of Friday, November 6.
Russian airlines will be taking tourists out of Egypt under regular and extraordinary schedules. The passengers will receive all information on flights, including date, time and company, through any means necessary.
Passengers and their luggage will fly in separate planes, and passengers are requested to observe this during their registration. The only luggage allowed on rescue flights will be the necessities, such as baby meals and obligatory medicine, and only in passengers’ handbags.
