Penza to open memorial plaque to first Soviet atomic submarine’s commander

Penza, 14 November 2015. PenzaNews. The memorial plaque to Anatoly Zhukov, commander of the first Soviet atomic submarine K-3 “Leninsky Komsomol,” chairman of the Penza navy council, will take place on Tuesday, November 17.

The memorial plaque will be placed on the Penza apartment building No. 5 on Sobinova street, the place of residence for the distinguished submariner after 1997.

The ceremony will begin at 12.00 and promises to involve authorities, civilians and school students.

The memorial plaque was created by the regional branch of the Artists Union of Russia and designed by Valery Kuznetsov, the press service of the Penza region government informed PenzaNews agency.
