Penza city head urges stricter school meal situation monitoring

Penza, 24 November 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza city head Victor Kuvaytsev has urged his subordinates to increase monitoring for the work quality of school mess halls.

“We currently monitor preparation of school meals in our educational institutions under the orders of the governor [Ivan Belozertsev]. As a result, we see that not all is defined by the costs of the foods. Another important factor is the outcome, the meals that end up on tables,” he said during the weekly meeting session of the city hall that took place on Tuesday, November 24.

A recent raid that involved parents, officials and Education Department representatives revealed “scandalous facts,” Victor Kuvaytsev added.

“We cannot just put up with that, colleagues. […] And again, we do say every time they are the most precious for us, they are our most reliable future. Let’s make sure this future also has good meals. Moreover, we say there’s some space in the budget for meals – we are ready to continue on that in 2016 as well. All options are reviewed, and we’ve allocated the money enough for practically everything, even with growing prices,” stressed the head of the city.
