Penza, 25 November 2015. PenzaNews. Over 500 beginning-of-career doctors have sworn fealty to their profession in a solemn event that was held in Wednesday, November 25, at the Penza Lermontov regional library.

The Penza region governor Ivan Belozertsev has congratulated them with the rite of passage and beginning their professional record, and called medical service one of the most important and respected types of work in the world.

“Today, it is you, talented successors to Penza medical professionals, whom we entrust our great hopes. Curing and healing people is a sacred mission and special gift, tough labor and great patience. Only those enlightened by mercy, true love for humanity, are granted that. It is my belief that you have these qualities in full,” he said.

The head of the region wished the doctors to remain in good health themselves, stay happy and be successful in their service to the humanity. He also rewarded those young professionals who will be beginning their work in the areas of the region with certificates for 1 million rubles and 150,000 rubles.

Also, Ivan Belozertsev took an opportunity to congratulate Yuri Orlov, Distinguished Doctor of the CIS and Honorary Citizen of Penza, with his 77th birthday.

“You did much for development of healthcare in the Penza region, and we are very much thankful to you. I hope you will continue sharing your immense experience with the younger doctors. May you stay healthy, successful and prosperous,” the governor wished.

In conclusion of the ceremony, the doctors received a candle, a symbol of life, from Oleg Anisimov, doctor of the Kuznetsk area hospital, winner of the 2015 Russian Doctors Contest.
