Penza, 9 December 2015. PenzaNews. Notable personalities in culture and science, teaching, religion, construction, communal services, industry, healthcare and other fields received medals “For Achievements in Penza Development” in the official event that took place on Wednesday, November 9.

In his address to the audience, the Penza city head Victor Kuvaytsev pointed out that the reward was created recently and had only under 700 recipients since 2007.

“But I believe we have much more deserving people out of the city’s 521,000 population,” he stressed, adding that the medal will b possibly awarded not only at the end of the year but also in the eve of City Day.

Each of its recipients achieved a certain level in their field, the Penza city head pointed out.

“Not only you do what you do in your work, you love your city and do everything for it to prosper, change its outlook, change for better comfort of the citizens. I believe you and I follow the same goal, try to do everything for the city. In the meantime, we rely on your cooperation in the future. As you understand, we need all your help, especially advice, particularly from senior colleagues, very much,” Victor Kuvaytsev stressed.

In turn, Sergei Volkov, acting mayor of Penza city, said the audience are “heroes of new time and Penza city.”

“You receive this medal today. No doubt it is a sign of recognition of your great achievement to Penza and the society,” he said.
